Elri Neervoort, Principal – Gauteng
Elri Neervoort has carved her career in the hospitality industry over the past 17 years, working first for Sun International and then the Minor Hotel Group.
Elri joined Sun International in August 2003, following a trajectory that saw her employed first as Financial Manager at Flamingo Casino before she moved to Carnival City. She then spent almost six years at Sun City where, as the finance executive, she was named the highest contributor to Sun City’s improved EBITDA of 32% over 3,5 years. Other highlights during her time include her role as project change practitioner for the rollout of IFS, an ERP system. Her work in implementing automated management reports had a significant impact on the efficiency and accuracy of the resort’s reporting.
Elri moved to the Minor Hotel Group in 2015. Her position as Regional Director of Finance – Africa, enabled her to gain SADC experience, overseeing operations in Lesotho, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Mozambique. Elri was responsible for the finance function of nine units, and raised the efficiency and quality of each. Moreover, she was at the helm when Minor Hotels undertook a successful renovation of an island property in Mozambique, which was completed within budget. Under her guidance, the company saw an increase in 2019’s consolidated results, with revenue growing by 12%, GOP up by 29% and NOP increasing by 47%.

A single mother, Elri is an enthusiastic cyclist and runner. She loves the outdoors, enjoys running and reading biographies.
