Jaco qualified as a chartered accountant in 1993.
His strategic insight, staff management and financial management skills have become well developed through his involvement with companies of all sizes, including multinational subsidiaries with international structures across multiple countries.
Jaco has a proven track record of successful implementations of reporting systems, reporting regime, implementation and monitoring of internal controls, change management and financial management of all aspects of businesses. More recently, his responsibilities included the implementation of budget and forecast processes for a UK listed pharmaceutical company. Other key focus areas include the implementation and monitoring of internal processes and procedures. He also understands, values and can build supplier relationships.
Jaco played a key role in the negotiations and due diligence of mergers and acquisitions of companies in South Africa, Australia, Singapore, Japan, UK and Kenya. He also had the responsibility to ensure integration of acquired subsidiaries post the acquisition transaction. In his most recent role, he was Director of 15 companies in all these jurisdictions and is well versed in the responsibilities of directorships, both in South Africa and abroad.
Jaco places a high value on professional and personal integrity, is an effective and articulate communicator, balances hands on tasks with high level strategic thinking. He has the ability to integrate with other senior executives as a valued advisor and implementor.
