Joubert Jonck, Principal – Western Cape
Qualified CA Joubert Jonck has over 27 years of experience in financial leadership roles. In addition to his knowledge of accounting, reporting, auditing and taxation issues, Joubert lists problem-solving, decision-making and advising CEOs on how best to adapt their thinking and financial systems among his greatest skills.
Joubert began his career straight after school in 1990, and did his Honours BCompt degree (with Certificate in the Theory of Accounting) through Unisa, part time, while doing his articles at PWC in George. The largest part of his career has been in auditing as a financial planner for SMEs and owner businesses – strategic support work of which he is justly proud. He spent 11 years at leading accounting group Boshoff Visser Inc. as director and audit partner given full responsibility for the Bellville branch. At Boshoff Visser, Joubert gained experience across industries − including property development, wine farming, FMCG, agricultural, education and hospitality – and helped grow the branch’s annual turnover from R1 million to R10 million.
Joubert also implemented the treasury function at Sanlam; was the head office accountant at Trencor Transport; and spent two years at the FDM Group of Companies, working on general management, full administration, HR and finance, reporting and taxation in the farming, production, retail and hospitality sectors.
More recently, Joubert served as part-time financial director at Cape Town-based television-production company Homebrew Films, as well as at CACIAAS, where he’s currently helping the SA-Angola Chamber of Commerce get set up in South Africa.
